Waxworksphoto was started by Susan Beard of Susan Beard Design Photography. After studying fine art at Moore College in Philadelphia she has continued to strive to push her work beyond the boundaries of a beautiful photograph. Over the years she has partnered with many wonderful photographers and artists. Leah Macdonald was the original inspiration for Waxworksphoto; collaborating fine art photography and her unique process. She continues not only create new products such as blissbooks.net, she also teaches workshops for Waxworksphoto in her private studio. The process of building layers of organic beeswax over a photograph allows the ability to create a 3 dimensional texture, as opposed to faux texture in Photoshop. Then using oil paints in hues that compliment the image, the photograph takes on a more painterly feel; making it a one-of-a-kind encaustic painting.

Just a reminder on how to care for your new encaustic painting:

Do not leave in direct sunlight
Do not display over a fireplace
Display in a cool dry space free of drastic temperature changes
Do not place anything directly on to the wax surface
To clean wipe with a dry lint free soft cloth

These tips will help ensure your Waxworksphoto piece will last a lifetime.
